Carpentry learners receive practical exposure

Majuba TVET College recently trained eleven Grade 12 pupils from Indonsa Technical High School for their Carpentry practical at the Newcastle Training Centre. Indonsa Technical High School, situated in Osizweni, introduced Carpentry as a subject in 2016. Although they have a workshop at the school, they lack the material to do their practical work.

Indonsa Technical High School learners proudly showcase their carpentry skills.

Since last year, the College has been assisting this school by giving their Grade 12 learners a weeks’ training in the Carpentry Workshop. Mr. P. Rangarira who is the Training Officer at the Carpentry Workshop said the learners have been showing interest and are very excited to be able to do their practical work. “It has been wonderful working with these learners as they have enormous potential to reach to the top,” Mr. Rangarira stated.

The eleven learners were accompanied by their teachers, Mr. Mkhokhelwa and Miss. Chemhuru, who were very grateful to Majuba TVET College for giving their learners this exposure. “We would like to extend our gratitude to the College for lending a hand to assist its own community,” said Mr. Mkhokhelwa.

Majuba TVET College is glad to have been given the opportunity to work with Indonsa Technical High School, in closing the skills gap and giving these students the chance to better their future with this practical exposure.
