Book review competition winners: Snethemba Myeza (3rd Place) Mthokozisi Mbatha (2nd Place) and Asheen Omaram (1st Place).
Majuba TVET College recently held its annual Book Review and Poetry Competition at the Newcastle Training Centre. All the Campuses were represented and students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. There were two different sessions on the day. The first session was the book review competition and the second session was the poetry competition.
The judges, Miss. M. Gigaba, Miss. S. Ngwenya (both from Suryaville Primary School) and Mr. A. Hlatshwayo were faced with a tough job as all the competitors gave it their best. For the book review competition, the winners were Snethemba Myeza (3rd Place), Mthokozisi Mbatha (2nd Place) and Asheen Omaram (1st Place). In the poetry competition, Lwando Sibisi and Noxolo Dammann tied in (3rd Place), Sanele Khanyile (2nd Place) and Sibongakonke Mchunu (1st Place).
Mrs. Busile Kunene (Student Development Practitioner: Majuba TVET College), gave some words of encouragement to all the competitors. “Everyone here is already a winner because there are students who did not have the courage to enter the competition. Everything you need to accomplish your goals is already in you,” emphasized Mrs. Kunene.
