Keeping The Spirit of Choral and Cultural Music Alive
Majuba TVET College hosted the nine TVET Colleges from KwaZulu-Natal for a prestigious two-day Choral and Cultural Music Festival which took place at the Centre for People Development Campus in Madadeni. The aim of the event was to provide students with a platform to showcase and develop their talents, as young choristers and composers of choral and cultural music. This event forms part of Heritage month celebrations in the country, keeping the power of choral and cultural music alive and its ability to nourish the soul.
In attendance were the renowned Masters in choral music, namely Dr. SJ Ngubane, Dr. E Mngadi, Dr GT. Khanyile, Dr. B Mthabela, as well a number of other distinguished guests and experts in this genre of music.
All KwaZulu Natal TVET Colleges competed in various categories including Female Voice, Male Voice, Duet Mezzo Soprano, Soprano Solo, Barito, Western and other African music genres. Majuba TVET College took part in all categories and won six trophies, claiming first position in African Dance (Indlamu).
Mrs. Thandekile Dlamini (Acting Assistant Director: Student Support Services) paid a special tribute to the College Management and Student Support Services team for hosting as well as participating in this event which was extremely successful.
