Graduates realise their dreams

Congratulations to Ms Magwenyane Siphidile for her astounding 9 Distinctions in the course Financial Management, she received a cheque to the value of R 5000.00 which was generously sponsored by ABSA Bank at the 2019 Graduation Ceremony.

It was all excitement as more than 530 Students graduated at Majuba TVET College, during the 2019 Graduation Ceremony in October. The Ceremony took place at the Centre for People Development Campus in Madadeni, Section 2. Distinguished Guests, Family and Friends attended as hundreds of Students reaped the fruits of their studies and hard work.

Graduates from the College received their National Diplomas in various fields such as: Business Management, Human Resource Management, Engineering Studies, Public Relations, Farming Management, Management Assistant, Financial Management and Hospitality Studies. The ceremony commencement was performed by the Programme Director, Mr. T. D. Ngwenya who executed his duties with aplomb and kept the audience entertained.

A sense of tradition can be felt at the 2019 Graduation Ceremony as dignitaries’ march together adorning themselves in traditional academic dress.

The Ceremony was graced by Dr. S. J. Nzimande (DHET Regional Director), who delivered the keynote address. Dr. Nzimande gave words of advice to the graduates saying, “Never give up. In the hardest times, never give up! You must not be the generation of failures. Our Country needs you most in the time of the 4th Industrial Revolution and poverty alleviation.” Concluding he said to the graduates “Our country needs you, and you must change it!”

Ecstatic graduands are eager to go up onto the stage to be presented their Diplomas, here on Day 2 of the Graduation Ceremony being held at the Centre For People Development Campus in Madadeni, Newcastle.

Mr. S.J. Mlotshwa (The Principal of Majuba TVET College) said he takes great pride in our graduates’ accomplishments. “You have made it. You deserve a very big round of applause.” He also congratulated the Parents on the Students’ accomplishments, “To the Parents, you have done a sterling job in supporting our Students. I must also express gratitude to the Lecturers and Peer Tutors who have contributed to our Students’ success.” He further pleaded with graduates to be good Ambassadors of Majuba TVET College, wherever they go.

During the ceremony individual Students were also recognised for their outstanding overall academic performance in their individual study programmes. The top achievers were presented with a cheque of R5 000 each, sponsored by ABSA Bank.

Mrs Thandekile Dlamini (Assistant Director: Student Support Services) said the Graduation Ceremony is a highlight of the year for all Institutions. “The Graduation is where we get to celebrate and showcase what we are all about, as an academic institution. It is fulfilling to actually see our Students graduate and achieve their dreams,” she stated.

Proud moments for Mr. Sthembiso Ndumo as he is being present with his Diploma by Mr. S. J. Mlotshwa (Majuba TVET College) during the Colleges’ 2019 Graduation Ceremony.

Mr. Sthembiso Ndumo, a Business Management graduate said he had mixed feelings about today; “I am excited and emotional at the same time, as this has been a long journey. A lot has happened, but I am here today, graduating. Credit must also go to our Lecturers who worked tirelessly and never gave up on us. Mr. Ndumo also shared with us his dreams of getting additional qualifications, and opening his own business to create job opportunities.

The Management and Staff of Majuba TVET College proudly extend their well wishes to all graduates, in their future careers or studies, and congratulate them on their excellent academic achievements.
