Dreams become a reality for Graduates

Ms. P. T. Mdluli achieved eight distinctions in her National Diploma for Financial Management and received a R5 000 cheque from ABSA Bank for being the overall Top Achiever at the College.
It was all excitement as more than 900 students graduated at Majuba TVET College. The Ceremony took place in the beginning of October 2018 at the Centre for People Development Campus in Madadeni, Section 2. Distinguished guests, family and friends attended as hundreds of students reaped the fruits of their studies and hard work at the 2018 Graduation Ceremony.
Graduates from the institute received their National Diplomas in various fields such as: Business Management, Human Resources Management, Engineering Studies, Public Relations, Farming Management, Management Assistance, Financial Management and Hospitality studies. The ceremony commencement was performed by Programme Director, Mr. M. Mazibuko who executed his duties with aplomb and kept the audience entertained.
The Honourable Mayor of Newcastle, Cllr. E. M. Nkosi, who also serves as a Majuba TVET Council member graced the function as well as other Council members of the College and Principals of other TVET Colleges.
Cllr. Nkosi congratulated all graduates and ensured them that the country as a whole is proud of them. “This is a big deal and not only the town but the whole country is proud of you today. We want to affirm to you that today you’ve changed the country’s life for the better and the skills you acquired will definitely be put into use,” he stated. He also encouraged graduates to acquire the necessary experience while they’re still looking for employment and also to start their own businesses.
The Principal of Majuba TVET College, Mr. S.J. Mlotshwa said he is delighted at the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with the graduates and advised them to ensure, at all times, that they are ready to take advantage of the opportunities that do arise. “For many it will mean accepting employment outside your fields of training, thereby allowing yourselves to engage and hone your newly developed critical thinking and problem- solving skills. Whatever you do, stay positive on the promise of a brighter tomorrow,” he said.
During the ceremony individual students were also recognized for their outstanding overall academic performance on their individual study programs. Ms. M.F. Hlophe (Centre for People Development, Human Resources Management) and Ms. P.T. Mdluli (IT & Business Campus, Financial Management) were named top achievers and were presented with a cheque of R5 000 each sponsored by ABSA. Ms. Mdluli did very well and achieved eight distinctions while Ms. Hlophe who was also part of the MSRC during the time of her course achieved seven distinctions.
The Management and staff of Majuba TVET College proudly extends their wishes to all graduates in their future careers and congratulates them on their excellent academic achievements.
