DHET TVET Communication Forum produces beneficial information.

Marketing Managers from various TVET Colleges in attendance at the DHET TVET Communicators Forum held at Ekurhuleni West TVET College in Boksburg, Johannesburg.
Recently the Marketing Team attended the TVET Communicators Forum which was hosted by Ekurhuleni West TVET College in Boksburg, Johannesburg.
The meeting got underway with Ms Lulama Mbobo (DDG: Corporate Services)who delivered the opening and welcome to all 55 guests mainly comprising of Marketing Managers from various TVET Colleges.
Mr Ishmaeel Mnisi (Media Liaison Officer – DHET) in his address touched on Media protocol and the importance of following the correct procedures, he also outlined 10 principles for effective communication. He further went on to discuss the District Development Model and expectations.

Programme Director Ms Seema Ramnarain (Chief Director: Corporate Communication – DHET) gets proceedings underway at the meeting.
The meeting was directed by Ms Seema Ramnarain (Chief Director: Corporate Communication – DHET) who introduced the next speaker Mr Elijah Mhlanga (DBE Head of Communication) who delivered a very informative presentation on the General Education Certificate, the presentation focused on the background, rationale behind the GEC, how it fits into the National Qualification Framework (NQF) as well as the primary purpose of this initiative.
Other presentations such as the NSFAS 2020 TVET plans and TVET College Times Editorial Debriefing were also carried out. A Question and answer Session followed and the meeting was officially closed by Mr Fanie Ngoma (Director: External Communications).
Overall the forum proved to be highly informative. Simple discussions like these around new ideas which often evolves into valuable knowledge that can be beneficial to the entire TVET Sector.
