Majuba TVET College has once again scooped a major National award, this time for Outstanding Performance in Exit Support from the Department of Higher Education and Training. Being one of the third major awards received within the past 3 months, this prestigious accolade was presented to the College by the former Minister of Higher Education and Training, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize at the National TVET College Student Support Services Conference which took place on the 30 January 2018 at the ICC in East London.
The event was attended by senior representatives of all 50 public TVET Colleges, as well as senior officials and representatives of the Department of Higher Education and Training.
Mrs. Zandile Nkabinde (Deputy Principal: Academic Services at Majuba TVET College) who attended the event commented: “The award is in recognition of good performance within the Student Support Services area with specific focus on Exit Support.
This covers initiatives of the college on job programmes, college partnerships formed with industry for WIL initiatives, and work readiness programmes initiated by the College.
This would not have been possible without the collaborative work of these departments: Student Support Services, Work Integrated Learning Unit, Exams, Quality and Marketing Departments. As a college we continuously strive to be a student centred institution.”
These awards inspire Majuba TVET College to continue with their commitment, dedication and passion to the students of the College.
